SkyPSI launches free platform to help drone operators find commercial cleaning jobs across the US

Starting a service business often requires more than technical skills. Independent contractors also need to find customers, understand market prices, and compete for contracts traditionally dominated by companies with dedicated sales teams and established commercial relationships.

SkyPSI is looking to change that equation with Operator+, a free application designed to help drone operators identify commercial cleaning opportunities and estimate the potential value of individual projects.

The Dallas-based technology company announced the nationwide launch of the platform, which maps 17.1 million commercial buildings across the United States and provides estimates for drone-powered exterior cleaning jobs.

According to SkyPSI, the average commercial project listed on the platform represents approximately $13,500 in potential revenue. Operators can access building estimates using a Google account, while paid subscriptions offer additional tools to manage customers and connect with property decision-makers.

“Every building in your city is a job,” said SkyPSI founder Vic Pellicano, describing the opportunity to make commercial property information more accessible to independent service providers.

Turning commercial property data into business opportunities

Operator+ combines property intelligence, project estimation, and business management features within a single application.

Its main feature, SkyEstimate, calculates the potential value of cleaning a specific building and provides an explanation of the methodology behind each estimate. This gives operators a starting point for preparing quotes and evaluating potential contracts.

The platform also includes scheduling, customer and job management, online invoicing, and Sky, an AI-powered virtual crew chief designed to answer operational questions and help users identify buildings that match their capabilities.

The free account provides access to building estimates and core application features. Paid subscriptions add immediate contact information for the people responsible for commercial property contracts. New users also receive a 30-day Starter trial.

For Pellicano, the product addresses a common challenge for independent contractors: accessing the commercial intelligence and customer relationships that larger service companies have traditionally built over time.

His own entrepreneurial background informs the approach. Having experienced financial hardship before building technology businesses, Pellicano sees Operator+ as a way to give smaller operators access to opportunities that would otherwise require substantial resources and established networks.

The application also expands SkyPSI’s original business model. Launched in August 2026 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the company initially focused on connecting independent operators with commercial exterior cleaning contracts through professional cleaning drones, training, certification, and project support.

Drones offer an alternative to certain traditional exterior maintenance methods, particularly on buildings where workers would otherwise need rope access or specialized equipment to operate at considerable heights. With an FAA-certified pilot controlling the aircraft from the ground, operators can perform qualifying cleaning tasks without requiring workers to remain suspended alongside building facades.

The technology could also change the economics of building maintenance. SkyPSI argues that properties previously cleaned once a year because of the costs and risks associated with rope access could become candidates for more frequent maintenance through drone-powered services.

Operator+ is available to operators across the United States, including markets such as Phoenix, Pittsburgh, and Portland. Although exterior cleaning is its initial focus, the company sees potential to extend the platform’s infrastructure to other commercial equipment and service categories.

“The robot economy is going to create millions of small businesses,” Pellicano said, describing cleaning as the “first door we’re opening.”

That ambition reflects a broader opportunity at the intersection of robotics and entrepreneurship: giving independent operators access to technology and business infrastructure that was previously more accessible to larger companies.

However, the platform’s long-term impact will depend on whether operators can convert property estimates and identified opportunities into signed contracts and sustainable businesses.
