Gorilla Logic brings AI-driven engineering to Academic HealthPlans

AI adoption in enterprise software development is no longer just about writing code faster. Companies also need the infrastructure, governance and engineering expertise to turn AI capabilities into reliable business outcomes. Gorilla Logic is taking on that challenge through a multi-year partnership with Academic HealthPlans (AHP), aimed at modernizing the healthcare services provider’s technology operations.

The collaboration will focus on strengthening AHP’s core technology platform, improving software delivery and introducing AI-enabled engineering workflows. The initiative is also expected to help the company bring new capabilities to market faster while improving the predictability and reliability of its development processes.

AHP, part of the Brown & Brown Team, has spent nearly three decades providing student health and wellness consulting and plan administration services to colleges and universities across the United States.

“AI creates an opportunity to fundamentally improve how we operate and how we serve our clients, but the goal is bigger than simply introducing new technology,” said Terry Lyons, CEO of Academic HealthPlans.

The first phase of the partnership involved an AI-enabled assessment of AHP’s existing technology and engineering environment. By combining AI-assisted analysis with engineering expertise, the companies identified areas where modernization could have the greatest impact.

Gorilla Logic will contribute its Construct™ engineering system, which combines reusable expertise, reference architectures, accelerators and established delivery practices. The program will also introduce shared technical knowledge and performance metrics covering development velocity, reliability and predictability.

“AI can increase the speed of software development, but enterprise-grade technology still requires governance, sound engineering practices and experienced judgment,” said Drew Naukam, CEO of Gorilla Logic.

The partnership follows Anthropic’s appointment of Gorilla Logic as a Select Services Partner in its Claude Partner Network, further positioning the engineering firm within the enterprise AI ecosystem.

Beyond software development, the companies expect the initiative to strengthen AHP’s use of data and AI to generate insights for the colleges and universities it serves. Neither company has disclosed specific financial targets, productivity benchmarks or a detailed implementation timeline.

Founded in 1998, AHP provides customized student health benefit programs and administrative services. Gorilla Logic specializes in AI-native product and platform engineering, AI agents, workflow automation, AI-enabled software delivery and enterprise integration.
